When their pregnant mother was turned into the shelter, Barktown volunteers scooped her up and brought her to safety. She was placed in a loving foster home to finish out her pregnancy. On October 27, eleven cute, cuddley babies were born. This is Comet. She is very curious and loves to play with her brothers and sisters. The mother is a catahoula, we think daddy was some kind of shepherd.
Please be sure that when you are filling out an application, you are ready to adopt. Since we are an all volunteer, foster based rescue that saves lives from a shelter with a high euthanasia rate, under no circumstances can we 'hold' dogs for an approved applicant. Adoption fee of $150 applies. All of our dogs are up to date with their vaccines, heart worm tested if old enough, and spayed or neutered. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in. Thank you for supporting us.
